The MCP9604 is a 4-channel thermocouple conditioning IC (integrated circuit) that rapidly integrates the signal chain, temperature measurement, and numerical computation engine, allowing for direct output of digital temperature values with a maximum allowable error of ±1.5°C. It supports eight common types of thermocouples, including type J and type K, simplifying the costly inline system construction. Additionally, with common discrete components built-in, the time required for verification and calibration is immediately reduced. The need for many external components is eliminated, reducing BOM (bill of materials) costs and design labor.
